Ok, so I was thinking I had seen just about every WWII tv show or movie there was out there untill tonight. Did anyone know there was a tv show about 918th bomber group in WWII. It was called 12 O'Clock High (there was also a movie with gregory peck with same title) It aired for 3 seasons (78 episodes) You can order the dvd's online.... BTW watched some of it on youtube, wasnt bad at all.

I also watched Dambusters and enjoyed it . It tells all about that bomb used to blow up those dams . good movie but what they don't say is how the squadron leader later got KIA on a mission after that . The Brits if I recall correctly still use the squadron for any kind of special bombing to this day .

I did some reseach on Wikipediakl, Suspect , the No. 617 Sqdr still operates the Tornado GR 4. The Commander during the 17 May 43 raid was Guy Gibons, he was banned from flying after the mission and went in public tour. His replacement was George Holdon, he was shot down in Sep 43 with 4 of Gibson's crew. This unit also bombed the Tripitz w/ tallboy bombs and made her turn turtle.
